- Avoid abrasive cleaners, detergents, disinfectants or cleaning products in aerosol cans.
- Do not allow abrasive chemicals and cosmetics (such as fingernail polish and aftershave) to come in contact with the seat, as they can damage the finish.
- Wood finish seats require special care and cleaning. Use only mild detergent (such as dish washing soap).

- Do not use cleaners containing ammonia, bleach, acid or chemicals that can damage these finishes.
- Use mild soap solution (such as dishwashing soap and water), rinse, and be sure to wipe the entire surface dry.
- Use only a soft cloth or non-abrasive sponge to wipe surfaces clean.
